mouse millmax

mouse millmax

millmax is basically making the pcb hotswap, client wanted to try and experiment with different switches and stuff

pcb is 1mm thick so dont have a lot of wiggle room for messups
step one is the grind the top with a broad grind tip to make space for the millmax lip and make the hole big enough for millmax socket to go through

it is critical that there is enough space so that millmax socket is flush fit with the top of the pcb therwise the mouse switch will not sit flush with the pcb and wobble and have clearence issues with the mouse body..

step 3 is wiring, now that we making the hole big it will cut through the default pad and everything also most of these pcbs have ground plain so if that gnd plain touches that signal pad it will short the pins
so it is crucial that we check for clerance of gnd plain on the signal pad
on a mouse switch pin one is signal, pin 2 is gnd and pin 3 is dummy so we only need to care bout that signal and dummy pin, dummy pin is connected to gnd pin internally,

basically grind properly and carefully, everything should be flush fit not loose fit, check for clerance with ground pour, do manual signal wiring
